Well, I would say that I guess?

Fleischmann ,trix, marklin, roco users, all you have to do to use this awesome wagon is fit standard nem kadee Couplers to a dedicated loco I used a fleischmann class 145 electric loco as it is eight wheel drive & is 240grams heaver then the cmx wagon this ho wagon will then couple up perfect. It passes fleischmann surface mounted point motors no problem & passes up continental platform areas too. This is a lot of money but this will last a life time & it is a pleasure to use. No other company makes any thing as good as this product for cleaning dcc track work. I hope this info helps people trying to decide over the price.
The CMX Clean Machine does exactly what is says on the tin!!If only CMX could develop a full scale model to clean "the wrong the type of leaves/snow etc" from Britain's railways, we would all get to work on time 5 days a week 6 stars!!
Had mine for a couple of years now and still impressed by it. I have fitted a tension-lock type at one end and left the Kadee on the other. You do need a hefty loco to push or pull it or double head. One big advantage is that you can run other stuff while you are cleaning.
I use the cmx clean machine on my home layout and the club layout and it cleans it well and i have no problems using it. It work on dc or dcc and it connected ok with british loco but if you want the right connection you should run it with an amercian loco. It's good for it's money and you can see the results on the track and the pad.
I HAVE A 30FT X 15FT X 30FT X 15FT USED RELCO TRACK CLEANING UNITS ON DC FOR OVER 18 YEARS FOUND THEM GOOD BUT THEN CONVERTED OVER TO DCC SO NEED SOME SORT OF AUTO CLEANER OR EASY USE SO ASKED DCC SUPPLIES & OTHERS FOR ADVICE THEY SAID YOU CANT USE HIGH FREQUENCY TRACK CLEANERS ON DCC AT THIS POINT I PANICKED AS TRACK GETS DIRTY AS WE ALL KNOW & TRAINS DONT RUN SO DCC SUGGESTEDTHIS CMX CLEANER I WAS BIT PUT OFF AT FIRST BY COST BUT DCC SUPPLIES SAID IF IT NO GOOD SEND IT BACK BUT I TELL YOU NOW YOU WONT NEED TO I USED IT & TRACK STAYS CLEANEVEN AFTER 2 MTHS NO USE WORSE HAVE TO DO IS RUN IT ROUND ONCE OR TWICE AND WAY YOU GO AND I SAY SAME TO ANY ONE IF YOU AFTER A FANTASTIC TRACK CLEANER THAT IS WORTH ITS MONEY WHICH THIS ONE IS THEN THIS ONE IS THE ONE TO BUY
I think its worth pointing out from the above review that its invariably British outline stock that comes with NEM coupling pockets at the wrong height. My CMX Clean Machine was offered up to a Kadee height gauge and was spot on.
My track on my test layout hasnt been cleaned for two years or more and repairing and fitting decoders for other people and the different types of locos I use on it with traction tyres, plastic wheels etc the track was in a state, it looked like it had been resufaced with tarmac. I purchased 2 CMX CLEAN MACHINEs one for a retired gentlemans layout who was having problems with his dcc locos not running very well. I filled the CMX with ACETONE and started hauling around the track being pushed wagon first by Class 20, well after about 10 laps the nickel silver track came shining through so much so that the class 20 started to get wheel slip. I tried the white clove test and to my amazement no black lines, this is a real cleaning machine used with the right type of cleaning fluid. As for the old gentlemans layout thats sorted as well, just used IPA this time. A must buy item for good running locos on your layout 110% well worth the money
After much web surfing on cleaning track I finally purchased the clean machine, it cleans as it says, its makes track cleaning fun not a pain. One problem is the HO wheels, smaller diameter than OO. I use Kadee couplers and the height difference meant it uncoupled. So I fitted hornby OO wheels coupling perfect, but cleaning pad height is raised by 1.5mm so cleaning not so effective, simply stick with double sided tape a piece of plasticard or similar of 1 to 1.5mm thickness to cleaning base. It then cleans as original. Well worth the money and shunting out the sidings, then shunting in the clean machine, makes maintenance a happy event.Well worth the money.
