The SWITCH pilot is the first multi-protocol switching
and accessory decoder for switching 4 double pole solenoids (e.g. switches)
or 8 accessories such as uncoupling tracks or lighting (e.g. yielding road or
house lighting).
It's typically ESU! - With intelligent software it can operate with DCC
or Motorola®. The SWITCH pilot is delivered in a durable housing at an
attractive price.
Modes of operation
The SWITCH pilot can be used under DCC and Motorola®. It is compatible with the
DCC standard and is addressed with switch commands . In the layout with
Motorola® the addresses 01 - 127 are possible. The recognition of the mode of
operation takes place fully automatic.
Function mode
The SWITCH pilot can be separately supplied either directly by the command
station or by an equal or a transformer. It's 8 transistor outputs with 1A
continuous power output enables up to four double coil drives of all well-known
manufacturers can be attached. The drive pulse duration can be selected from 0.1
s to 1 second per exit, in order to prevent a burning through of drives without
limit switches. The SWITCH pilot behaves in this mode of operation as
k83-compatible.
Alternatively a continuous output mode can be selected, in order to supply light
signals or other items such as yielding road or house lighting directly from the
SWITCH pilot for each of the outputs. Effects such as over screens ("zoom shot")
or signal light functions help you with the realisation of prototypical light
signal and/or railroad overpasses. The SWITCH pilot provides the most important
characteristics of the well-known k84-Decoder.
Servo control
But the SWITCH pilot can do still more: Beside the transistor exits, two
conventional RCServos can be operated directly by the SWITCH pilot. For each
servo also the two end positions can be individually set, as well as the
regulating speed. Thus independently prototypical, slow and strong movements are
reproducible dependent upon track system and track width. They could use the
servo-drive also for your form signals or railroad crossings: The Modeller will
surely find many more applications...
Feedback
But the SWITCH pilot would not be an ESU product, if it did not offer more: In
connection with a ECoS it's an ideal "partner". The SWITCH pilot can seize
and indicate the actual point position during mechanical preparation of your
accessories and/or switch: Finally you have the certainty that your points
switched really correctly!
The SWITCH pilot can be easily programmed:
It supports all DCC programming modes inclusive of POM (main track programming).
Pre-supposing a control unit with programming track exit, thereby all modes can
be controlled and changed. Alternatively you can assign the address also over
the programming track directly at the SWITCH pilot: - release the switching
command at the command station - finished press button! Adjusting the parameters
for owners of our ECoS is particularly easy: On the large screen all parameters
in plain language are indicated and can be changed in simplest way - even during
operation!
Protection
Similar to that already in the locomotive decoders is also included in the
SWITCH pilot, as during its development great importance was attached to
indestructibility: All transistor exits are protected from overload and
short-circuit.
SWITCH pilot Extension
The SWITCH pilot can be supplemented if necessary with the SWITCH pilot
extension module: Laterally connected to the SWITCH pilot it offers 4 relay
exits for switching heaver duty items, or those with floating polarities.
