My track on my test layout hasnt been cleaned for two years or more and repairing and fitting decoders for other people and the different types of locos I use on it with traction tyres, plastic wheels etc the track was in a state, it looked like it had been resufaced with tarmac. I purchased 2 CMX CLEAN MACHINEs one for a retired gentlemans layout who was having problems with his dcc locos not running very well. I filled the CMX with ACETONE and started hauling around the track being pushed wagon first by Class 20, well after about 10 laps the nickel silver track came shining through so much so that the class 20 started to get wheel slip. I tried the white clove test and to my amazement no black lines, this is a real cleaning machine used with the right type of cleaning fluid. As for the old gentlemans layout thats sorted as well, just used IPA this time. A must buy item for good running locos on your layout 110% well worth the money
