I brought a pair of intermountain ho fp9s with sound, having run them on dc for a while i thought id take the plunge and try DCC having had good experiences with Gaugemaster I wondered what they did, clearly this controller is a rebranded MRC prodigy advanced but this gives you the confidence that gaugemaster would have tried others so i took the plunge and brought one. What can I say after DC this is like fantastic, and the access to the sounds that this allows with quantum sound fitted FP9a and b is just unbelievable. I was so impressed that in a week I have converted 9 dc locos to dcc and I will never buy a loco again without dcc and sound (despite them being twice as expensive). I have not tried other dcc controllers so I cant comment on them or make comparisons but I am more than happy with this controller and I have run 7 locos on a simple loop without any problems. Im now clearing out the garage to build a layout, that how much better than dc it is.
