5*plus product sold by a 5*plus company.
I have now fitted (hard wired) two of these decoders into 00 gauge Hornby trains.
Hornby School Winchester R2945X.
Hornby School Hailybury R2815.
The instructions leaflet you get with this decoder is very self explanatory and just as easy to follow.
N gauge modellers; could this be the 4 function decoder you have been looking for? I feel it is.
This decoder not only drives the motor but the engine box flicker, rear and front running lights and a Seuthe smoke generator number 22 and will do so all at once without the decoder heating up 'showing signs of stress' or going into safe mode.
It does so with no issues or problems at all. You want slow silent running? Once you have the CV’s configured correctly then this is the decoder for you.
This decoder is also small enough to have it fitted into the main loco body, on the two models mentioned, with some very careful milling work using a Dremel drill thus eradicating the need to keep that awful 4 pin connector Hornby used. Why – surely Hornby understand older users of this type of connector are going to struggle handling such? /gripe over!
I am now in the process of swapping out all 8 and 6 pin decoders for this make of decoder as I like it that much. The very slow running capability of this decoder leaves the more expensive and better known branded manufacturers in its shadow.
As said; it is just a case of configuring the CV’s correctly for the make of model you fit it into.
Coupled with the famous goof proof no questions asked guarantee/warranty given by TCS you cannot and will not go wrong with this decoder.
