The most convincing way is to experience it with your own senses!

The Enginear's Notes:
  1. You'll need to be able to play .MP3 files (Windows media player for example)
  2. If possible use external speakers placed closely, only a few inches apart.
  3. These are just samples. They are not always excerpts, but rather condensed versions of each actual 60-80 minute scene, created to give you a 'sense' of the scene in only a minute or two.
  4. You'll instinctively want to lean in and listen... go ahead, its like 'being there' (only more Fun). But do take a moment to stand back and listen as well, you might be surprised at how big the scene image appears 'in the air around your speakers'. At a scale volume, the scene will sound like it is 'way over there', from only a few feet away.
  5. Move around, everything sounds 'right', no matter where you stand (or lean).
  6. If you have SRS Labs processing in your media player, turn it off!

OH! And for goodness sakes, at some point see just how far down you can turn it...  there'll always be something going on to draw your ear.

Versatility:
Do you model a specific period? Many of the scenes are timeless... the rest are available in your choice of three eras:

  • WWII (steam era)
  • Modern (diesel era).

And coming soon; Scenes set in the 1960's transitional era!

Do you run night time operations? Whenever appropriate the CD scenes come with both day and night soundtracks...
