Brelec's 4 pole conductive coupling for OO/HO scales
4 independent connections integrated into an NEM coupling

Pack contains 1 pair of close-couplings (2 pieces)

In principle, it would be possible to build pick-ups into each car. The disadvantage, is that additional friction on the wheel flanges reduces the pulling strength of the locomotive.
Much neater and practical than micro-connectors is a conductive coupling. This allows distribution of the power throughout the train in a very simple and reliable way.
A conductive coupling also makes it possible to switch the interior lighting for the entire train by means of a single function decoder.
The decoder is usually placed in the last car, which is also where the power is collected.
As an option, the decoder can also switch the tail lighting. Uncoupled by gently pressing the underside of the coupling

DMU's, HST's and other multiple unit sets are a natural application for this coupling.

Specification:
Length (excludes NEM bayonet): 15mm
Max load: 1 Amp
Wellconnected
Have used this on a sound fitted Hornby class 101 fitted with extra pick ups on trailer car.other two wires used for interior lights.Good electrical continuety and positive coupling with the double hook arrangement. The four wires are all black and comendably fine and flexible,
